Getting relatives involved and ways to assist them
A mental illness usually represents a serious event for the relatives as well. The situation may cause uncertainty, it may be overwhelming, and can become a long-term burden. Relatives are often affected by the impact of the illness. At the same time, relatives constitute a kind of safety net for the patient and can contribute to the patient’s stabilization process. Our patients' relatives are important to us, and we would like to involve them in the treatment as early as possible.
Medical information for relatives
We gladly provide information to relatives if the patient has released us from the duty of confidentiality. Please contact the responsible specialist directly.
Discussions with relatives
The discussions between the patient and his or her relatives are headed by the therapist in charge or the personal caregiver. If needed, conversations may also be held with the employer or other persons from the patient's circle.
